Who should buy it?
Reasons to consider it
- Central knob and one-tap snoozing
- No app or subscription required
- 29 sounds and ten ambient colors
Reasons to pause
- One alarm in the manufacturer comparison
- Higher reference price than Sunrise 1
- Selected owners mention display brightness or electrical noise
The control upgrade
The central knob is the most concrete reason to compare Sunrise 2 with Sunrise 1. Being able to reach a familiar physical control in the dark can matter more than another set of lighting effects.
A different light surface
The convex fabric-covered light has a different shape from Sunrise 1. Check the dimensions and your bedside space alongside the control layout; a different shape alone does not tell you how bright the light will feel at your pillow.
Still a simple schedule
The manufacturer comparison lists a single alarm. If several saved schedules matter, the connected Sunrise 1+ is the more relevant alternative despite its lower reference price. Model numbering does not map neatly onto every feature.
The sound-machine role
A built-in sound library, colored ambient light and a timer make this a possible evening device as well as an alarm. Selected owner feedback is favorable overall but includes practical concerns about the clock display and an individual report of electrical noise.
Living with Dreamegg Sunrise 2
The dial is the buying reason
A central knob gives you a different way to adjust the clock than several smaller buttons or a phone screen. Compare the gallery and controls with Sunrise 1 if you often change settings while sitting or lying beside the bed.
Keep the single alarm in mind
The 29 sounds and light design do not add multiple saved alarms. Choose Sunrise 1 Plus for app-managed schedules if you need several routine times. For one daily alarm, the physical interface is likely to be the more important distinction.

How our budget bands workQuestions before you buy
Who should consider this model?
Sunrise 2 is the affordable upgrade to compare when physical controls matter more than app scheduling. Its central knob, 29 sounds and different light surface are the advertised distinctions. We have not measured whether its light fills a room better than Sunrise 1.
Is Sunrise 2 an app upgrade?
No. It is the standalone model with a central physical control. Sunrise 1 Plus is the connected alternative.
Should I choose Sunrise 2 for changing weekly schedules?
Its one-alarm design is less flexible than a model with several saved schedules. Compare Sunrise 1 Plus or Lumie Shine 300 for that need.
